Banking Resolution

Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data bankingresolution.com processes, why, on what legal basis, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. It applies to this website only.

Controller

The data controller is the operator of bankingresolution.com. Enquiries about this policy or about your data can be sent through the contact form.

Audience measurement

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the reference is used and to improve it. These tools are provided by Google Ireland Limited. Audience measurement runs by default; you can opt out at any time from the cookie notice or from Cookie preferences in the footer, after which no analytics cookies are set and your visit is not measured. Google Consent Mode is configured so that advertising storage and personalisation remain disabled at all times — this site runs no advertising.

When consent is granted, Google Analytics processes technical data such as a randomised client identifier, pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, and referring pages. This may involve a transfer to Google in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. You can withdraw consent at any time from Cookie preferences in the footer. See the cookie policy for the specific cookies and their retention.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), which you may object to at any time through the opt-out described above.

Contact form

If you write to us through the contact form, we process the name, email address and message you provide, solely to read and answer your enquiry. Messages are delivered by our own mail server and are not passed to any third-party mailing or marketing service.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Providing an email address is optional and only needed if you want a reply.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the weekly newsletter, we process your email address together with the time of signup, the time of confirmation, the IP address the signup came from and the form it was made on. The subscription only becomes active after you confirm it from the email we send (double opt-in); that record is kept as proof of consent. Emails are sent from our own self-hosted mailing system through Amazon SES, acting as a processor for delivery only; your address is never passed to any other third party or used for anything but the newsletter itself.

Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 21 LSSI-CE). Every issue contains a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately, and you can also withdraw consent through the contact form. On unsubscribing, your address stops receiving all sends at once; the consent record is retained only as evidence of the past subscription.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, request time, page requested, user agent) for security and to diagnose faults. These are retained for a short period and are not combined with the analytics data or used to identify visitors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data about institutions

The entity, instrument and case data published on this site is compiled from public regulatory sources (see sources). It concerns institutions and financial instruments, not website visitors, and is not personal data about you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form.

Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the tools or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected here.
