Resolution reporting
Resolution reporting is the set of returns through which a bank tells its resolution authority what it owes, to whom, under which law and through which entity, and which of its activities the economy cannot do without. Since the reference date of 31 December 2025 the annual return is split into RESOL 1 and RESOL 2 under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2303, which replaced the Liability Data Report and its companion templates.
The returns
| Return | Content | Frequency | Reference | Deadline | Format |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RESOL 1 Organisation and liability data | Legal and ownership structure, the full liability structure, own funds requirements, intragroup connections, major counterparties, deposit insurance, and the granular liability tables down to ISIN level. | Annual | 2025-12-31 | 2026-03-31 | XBRL-CSV |
| RESOL 2 Critical functions, relevant services and FMIs | The criticality assessment of economic functions country by country, the services the group depends on, and every financial market infrastructure it reaches. | Annual | 2025-12-31 | 2026-04-30 | XBRL-CSV |
| MREL/TLAC Own funds and eligible liabilities reporting | Compliance with the requirement between planning cycles: eligibility, composition, maturity and creditor ranking of the stack. | Quarterly | Quarter end | Per the ITS remittance dates | XBRL |
| ALR Additional Liability Report | An SRB template requested case by case, mainly for multiple point of entry groups and specific resolution groups, where RESOL 1 does not give the authority enough detail. | On request | 2025-12-31 | Set in the request | Excel |
| MBDT Minimum Bail-in Data Template | The dataset a bank must be able to produce at short notice so that a bail-in can actually be executed on its liabilities. | Resolution readiness | On request | Within the deadline set by the authority | Excel |

Scope of this section
33 templates are documented here, with every row and column code taken from Annex I to the implementing regulation. The explanations are written by a person and reviewed before publication; where a rule is stated, it comes from Annex II to the same regulation. This is a reference, not regulatory advice: the authoritative texts are the ones linked on every page, and your national resolution authority may add requirements on top of them.
